Adult Bible Fellowships

Adult Bible Fellowships

Adult Bible Fellowships (ABF) are an opportunity for adults to participate in the study of the Bible in a smaller group setting. These groups meet at 9:00 a.m., before the Sunday morning worship service, and vary in size from 5 to 40 adults.

All ABFs have the same two basic goals. First, to provide an opportunity for Bible study that stresses personal application of God's Word to one's daily life. Second, to cultivate genuine fellowship as participants learn to pray for one another and develop relationships with others in the group.

Each ABF has at least one leader/teacher who prepares and delivers the lesson topic each week. The leader also promotes discussion and encourages application of the Biblical truths discovered during the meeting. Study topics are Christ-centered and may focus on a spiritual book or a topic/person from the Bible.

Each group is encouraged to meet together at others times for Bible study, social events, and prayer.

Current ABF groups on Sunday mornings, 9:00 AM:

Rexford ABF - Room 302

Men's ABF - Fellowship Hall

Tingler ABF - Room 102

Council ABF - Room 105

Ladies' ABF - Room 101

Men's Ministry

Applying the principle of Proverbs that as iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another, this ministry is focusing on offering men encouragement and insight to become new men in Christ. We offer several activities throughout the year:

Men's Bible Study - Saturday mornings, 8:00 - 9:00 a.m.  Bible study, prayer and donuts in Room 102.  All men, young and old, are welcome.

Men's Breakfast - All men are invited to a full, hot breakfast and Bible message the first Saturday of the month at 8:00 a.m. in the church fellowship hall.

Women's Ministry

The vision of the Women's Ministry is to proclaim Jesus Christ and fulfill His mission by embracing two goals: to encourage women with a sense of belonging to God and each other, and to enable them to become all they are to be in Christ and serve others effectively through His power. (Based on Colossians 1:28, 29)

We, as women living in a fast-paced world, constantly need to be encouraged in our sense of belonging to God. This is achieved through our Bible Studies and prayer times. Throughout the school year, there are daytime studies offered at the church, and there is often a Summer study as well. All studies include fellowship, discussion, and prayer. Childcare is also provided.

We also offer opportunities for service:

Our Outreach Committee visits, writes notes, telephones, etc.

The Family Issues Committee supports special needs of families through providing meals and other types of help in times of crisis.

The Socials and Special Events Committee helps plan special activities of the Women's Ministry as well as church-wide social events such as picnics, Christmas parties, and suppers.

For more information about the Women's Ministry, contact the church office at 910-864-3237 or by email.
