Church of the Open Door | Come in to know Christ. Go out to serve Him.
Women's Ministry

"We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching
every man with all wisdom, so that we may present
every man complete in Christ. For this purpose also
I labor, striving according to His power, which might

works within me."
                                                      Colossians 1:28-29

The Women's Ministry has as its vision to proclaim Jesus Christ
and fulfill His mission by encouraging women with a sense of
belonging to God and each other; and also enabling them in
becoming all they are to be in Christ and to serve others
effectively through His power. (Based on Colossians 1:28,29)

We, as women living in a fast-paced world, constantly need to be
encouraged in our sense of belonging to God. This is achieved
through our Bible Studies and prayer times:

1. Throughout this school year, there are daytime studies
offered at the church one which meets every other Tuesday.

2. A summer study with various teachers is usually offered. All

studies  include fellowship, discussion, and prayer items. Childcare

is also  provided.

To obtain fellowship and growth, we offer two unique ministries:

1. Special Saturday Seminars offered  periodically through the year,
these seminars teach developmental skills such as cooking/nutrition,

CPR, scrapbooking, knitting, effective leadership methods, effective

quiet time, etc. Participants may sign up for the desired class.

Lunch and childcare are provided.

2. Ladies Night Out - a Friday night supper with fun, fellowship,

book reviews/speakers, etc. Childcare provided.

As women grow, there are various ways of service:

1. Outreach Committee that visits, writes notes, telephones, etc.
2. Family Issues Committee that supports special needs of families,
such as meals and helps in times of crisis.
3. Socials and Special Events Committee that helps with special
activities of the Women's Ministry as well as with church-wide

socials such as picnics, Christmas parties and suppers.
4. Many women also serve as teachers and helpers in Sunday

School, nursery, AWANA, and MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers).
